From May 2022 it has been a requirement for ALL Goods Vehicles above 2.5T GVW travelling internationally, INCLUDING CARS AND TRAILERS to be authorised under a Standard International Operators Licence, which requires a qualified Transport Manager to be nominated on the O-Licence.
Vans and car/trailers used only domestically are currently exempt from this regulation below 3.5T.

From July1st 2026 it is a requirement that ALL Goods Vehicles AND CAR/TRAILER COMBINATIONS above 2.5T gross weight used for hire or reward MUST be fitted with a Smart Tacho V2 if used in international carriage of goods.
THIS ALSO APPLIES TO TRAFFIC TO/FROM THE REPUBLIC OF IRELAND.
